The early morning light near Devil's Overlook has created a unique reflection within one of the wall's crevices. The pillar of light is present for only a little while and then fades as the sun rises and the angle changes. It is a beautiful sight and deserving of its own name; The Dragon's Tongue. Only during a short time in the month of July does this phenomenon occur in the Black Canyon National Park a few miles east of Montrose, Colorado. It becomes visible just at sunrise and last for only a few minutes. I was blessed to see this phenomenon take place.
